KU Leuven MUN (KULMUN)

The KULMUN Student Association can proudly announce that its yearly MUN Conference will indeed return for an 9th edition in 2019. KULMUN 2019 is set to take place from March 5 to 9 in the city of Leuven, Belgium. A MUN or Model United Nations Conference is an educational activity in which organs of the United Nations but also other international organisations are simulated. In a simulation, the participants, or delegates, each represent a country whose policy and interests they aim to defend during negotiations concerning an international issue. The topics debated are usually present-day topics, such as the situation in Syria or the state of the European economy.

Simulations of this kind are held throughout the world, therefore KULMUN is very proud to be the host of its own conference and that already for more than 7 years. While our first conference in 2011 solely accommodated around 50 Belgian MUN enthuasiasts it has grown into a five day lasting one which hosted over 150 delegates from more than 28 countries in 2018.

We are very much looking forward to welcome you to Leuven for a sure to be memorable week!

South-West Model United Nations

We are very excited to announce that the fourth South-West Model United Nations Conference will be taking place in Bath, coming full circle! We are a collaboration between the University of Bristol Model United Nations, the University of Exeter Model United Nations and the Bath University Model United Nations societies. We are aiming to bring you the biggest and most exciting conference in the South-West this year, so we hope you enjoy and join us for an unforgettable weekend.

We're looking to build upon the successes of the past years and host the largest-ever SWMUN. We're planning an action-packed weekend of kicking off with a black-tie formal on Friday through to engaging and challenging debates on Saturday and Sunday.

This year has seen the global political agenda take on divisive topics and has set many historical "firsts" in international relations. In this time of political change and unprecedented political and social disruption, we hope this conference can be a platform where the leaders of tomorrow can challenge and be challenged with the real problems faced by our societies. We are confident that the resolutions that will be presented by the committees and delegates will be innovative and comprehensive, reaffirming the role that the UN has to play on the global political stage.

The University of Bath is thrilled to host the conference this year and is eager to build on the success of the conference hosted at the University of Bristol last year and continue the legacy by passing the torch on to the University of Exeter. As a world heritage site let the charm of Bath accompany you on this weekend of debating and chairing, offering a unique mix of contemporary fun and possibilities with all the historic grandeur of this Roman-founded city.

We hope you enjoy the conference, and make the most out of an exciting opportunity here in Bath!
