General Assembly of the United Nations: Social, Humanitarian & Cultural - Third Committee

Be a part of the largest forum within the world, the General Assembly of the United Nations. Most states around the world join in the chamber of the General Assembly at the UN's Headquarters in New York City to discuss international issues. 

This GA committee will be discussing Social, Humanitarian and Cultural issues within the Third Committee.

At ReadiMUN15, the chairs have two interesting topics for you lined up.

Topic A: The Rights of the Child: Tackling the International Issue of Child Prostitution.
Topic B:  Preserving the Socio-cultural Practices of Religious and Ethnic Minorities.

​​Applications are open until 20th November, but please note you will be required to pay by this date too! All allocations will be given upon receipt of payment.

Head Chair

Introducing Abbas Kanani
Since graduating from his International Relations and Economics degree at Reading University, Abbas is currently studying his postgraduate degree in law at BPP Law School.

​Since becoming a member of the Model United Nations Society at Reading, Abbas has gained an active interest in the world of MUN, and is delighted to have the opportunity to chair at the Reading 2015 conference.

Co-Chair

Introducing Azed Butt
Azed has recently graduated from University of Reading in Politics and International Relations.

He has been a proactive member of the Reading MUN Society since 2012, and has served on the Committee as National Conference Officer and as Secretary General for the ReadiMUN 2014 conference.

​Though Azed has attended 12 Conferences as a delegate, this will be his first time chairing in a MUN conference; he is very excited to have been invited to do it at Reading MUN Conference.
